MSCA fellow in the CLEAR project and a PhD candidate at the University of Tübingen

Pablo Chisbert Varon holds a BSc in Biochemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Strathclyde, where he screened Actinobacteria extracts for antimicrobial activity against ESKAPE pathogens. He then completed an MSc in Industrial Biotechnology through the IBioIC in Scotland, focusing on the use of biomass-derived materials in hydrogels for drug delivery. He then spent three years at MiAlgae Ltd, a biotech start-up in Edinburgh, contributing to the development and scale-up of a fermentation platform for Omega-3 production from industrial byproducts. Currently, his PhD project involves mining metabolomic data to identify novel antimicrobials and study their mode of action.
