NAICONS takes part in BREAKthrough, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie. BREAKthrough trains early stage researchers in Europe to to develop and apply novel tools to identify bioactive molecules and to address serious and global problems of antibiotic resistance. BREAKthrough will concentrate on the benefit of integrated multidisciplinary approaches to kill Gram-negative bacteria through existing antibiotics, by making their outer membrane permeable.For more info about project https://breakthrough-project.eu/research/

NAICONS takes part in MAGic-MOLFUN, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie. MAGic-MOLFUN trains early stage researchers in Europe to to develop and apply novel tools to identify bioactive molecules and to address serious and global problems of antibiotic resistance. MAGic-MOLFUN will focus on the next generation of specialists through an educational program combining wet-lab and computational skills to integrate genome mining and metabolomics with cutting-edge pathway discovery and engineering approaches. NAICONS takes part in MARBLES, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The project, which is coordinated by Leiden University, NL, includes leading European laboratories involved in finding molecules produced by microorganisms. Naicons is proud to be the only Italian representative to be in the roster of Partners. MARBLES will use a novel and systematic approach to access and exploit marine microbial biodiversity for sustainable bioprospecting to discover microbial consortia and bioactive molecules for application in aqua, agriculture and in the clinic. The Italian Ministry of Research has approved a 3-year, 2.95 M€ program (project code DM60066) for potentiating NAICONS technology platform for the discovery of new antibiotics. The project, which started on January 2020, involves developing new methods for discovery bioactive metabolites, smart screening programs and characterization and optimization of NAICONS proprietary antibacterial leads. The project is associated with an innovative program to train researchers in the discovery, characterization and development of new antibiotics.Nov. 2020
NAICONS takes part in INNOTARGETS, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie. INNOTARGETS trains early stage researchers in Europe to address serious and global problems of antibiotic resistance. NAICONS takes part in PEST-BIN, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie. PEST-BIN trains early stage researchers in Europe to address serious and global problems of antibiotic resistance. PEST-BIN will focus on nano-engineering, antibiotic discovery and production, proteomics-based diagnostics and big data analysis using artificial intelligence. NAICONS takes part in CARTNET (Combating Antimicrobial Resistance - a training network), funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (No. 765147). CARTNET trains young researchers in Europe to address serious and global problems of antibiotic resistance. NAICONS takes part in Train2Target, an European Training Network funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (no. 721484). The project, which started on January 2017 and will last until December 2020, involves 11 Beneficiaries from 8 different countries and is dedicated to the scientific and professional training of 15 Early Stage Researchers (PhDs). The aim of the Train2Target programme is to deliver leads for a new generation of innovative antibacterials to treat infections by multi-drug resistant pathogens.
